Migration

During the 1990s, there were significant population shifts in the Western Balkans as many became refugees, displaced across borders and internally displaced persons (IDPs), displaced within their state’s borders. While there are lingering cases dealing with IDPs and the sustainable integration of refugees, in recent years, Serbia has been experiencing a rise in refugees and migrants.

The Migration Programme is centered around the effort to protect the rights of asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in Serbia. Within the Programme, Praxis is focused on continuous monitoring of the implementation of relevant legislation, research, advocacy for removal of obstacles in access to rights, raising awareness of the target groups about the guaranteed rights, as well as strengthening the cooperation with other organizations in the field of migrations.
